The AP (8/4, Kellman, Rosenberg) reports the current “political turmoil around” the ACA “all but guarantees” that employer-based health coverage will be a fixture for some time to come. The article says this form of healthcare coverage “is so ingrained in the American workplace that people expect it to continue even as politicians thrash out the role of government in health care.” Polls, consumers and business owners all point to this. The piece adds that “in a nearly saturated labor market, employers don’t want to give workers a reason to work somewhere else.”
